The following list represents Diocesan guidelines for grade-level content standards and is based on the State of California Content Standards. Additional content standards may be developed at the local school level. Grade-level and unit of practice performance standards must be developed at the local level.

Some grade-level performance standards and additional details about content standards may be found in the Reading/Language Arts Framework for California Public Schools available from the CDEPress, Sales Office, California Department of Education, P.O. Box 271, Sacramento, CA 95812-0271 for $17.50 (as of 2/1/00 - price subject to change).

The Catholic School Department will develop links to Diocesan Catholic schools exemplary performance standards as they become available.

Language Arts Standards for grades Kindergarten thru 8^th grade have been revised as of August 28, 2007.
